Services Available: Infant Massage Classes, Postnatal Mom
& Baby Groups for mothers with infants up to 1 year old,
Book Babies Groups for parents with children up to 1 year old,
Single Mom Support Groups, Parent Education Programs: Effective
Positive Discipline, Parent/Child Playgroups for
parents/grandparents/caregivers of children Birth through 3
years old, and Fathers Groups for fathers or other important
male caregivers of children Birth through 5 years. We also offer
Resource and Referral Services for families as well as Community
Family Events.
Cost Associated: All programs are FREE to Barnstable
Residents and families utilizing Early Intervention and WIC
services. For those living outside of Barnstable and not meeting
the other criteria, there is a small fee of $20.00 to
participate in Parent/Child Playgroups per 6-10 week session
with Barnstable families having priority.
Method of Payment/Insurance Accepted: Our programs are
grant funded through the MA Department of Early Care and
Education, the MA Children's Trust Fund, the Cape & Islands
United Way, and fundraising efforts. If a non-Barnstable
resident must pay, we accept cash or checks.
Limitations to Services: The Families United Network
(FUN) Program offers programs primarily in the Barnstable area
(Hyannis, Centerville, Marstons Mills, Barnstable, West
Barnstable, Osterville, and Cotuit) villages. Our parent
education series are also offered in West Yarmouth.

Services Available: The Upper Cape Family Network (UCFN)
believes that all parents, regardless of education or income
level, race, creed, or family composition, are most effective
when they feel supported in the vital, but often challenging,
job of raising a family. Funded by the Department of Early
Education and Care, the UCFN provides playgroups, parent
education workshops, family and community activities, as well as
information about community resources. By providing family
recreational activities and playgroups, we hope to help parents
build connections with other parents that will extend outside
the Family Network. By providing information, resources, and
parent support/education groups, we hope to help parents'
enhance their child-rearing skills.
Cost Associated: Free
Limitations to Services: families with children - ages
0 to 48 months - in the towns of Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich, and
Mashpee.

Services Available: Support group 2nd/4th Thursday from
1pm-3pm Maternity Conference Room. After the birth of a baby
there may be many emotional and physical changes and this can be
a difficult time. Women can experience mild feelings that may be
called "postpartum or maternity blues." For some women
the sadness and anxiety does not go away, and this is called
postpartum depression. If at any time after the birth of your
baby you're feeling nervous, anxious, sad, worried, or scared,
you are not alone. Join our support group held at Falmouth
Hospital.
Cost: FREE

Services Available: We are a program of Health Care of
Southeastern Mass., Inc. Our Healthy Families Program is funded
through the Children's Trust Fund while our Young Parents
Services is funded through the Department of Social Services.
Each program is home visiting and provides education related to
pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, infant and toddler
development, and parenting. The staff also provides advocacy to
assist participants in obtaining needed services. The Healthy
Families program serves first time pregnant and/or parenting moms
and dads 20 and under with a child under 12 months. Our Young
Parents Services work with moms and dads up to the age of 23.
There are no guidelines related to the age of the child or the
number of children. This program also looks to work with those
who have mental health, domestic violence and substance abuse
issues.

Services Available: The Community Network for Children
provides programs, services, and referrals for parents and
children birth through age 5. Programs include Welcome Baby home
visiting program, parent/child playgroups, parent discussions
groups, parent enrichment programs, family events, and a drop-in
playspace - The Early Childhood Center (ECC) which is free of
charge and available to all families with children up to 5 years
of age. The ECC is located in Room 106 of the Nantucket High
School.
Cost Associated: Many of the CNC's programs for young
children and their families are supported by grants from the
Department of Early Education and Care, and are offered
free-of-charge. Fee based programs are subsidized in-part by
municipal funds from the Town of Nantucket to the Nantucket
Public Schools.

Limitations to Services: All of the CNC's programs are located on Nantucket Island.
